Designed for use over metal roofs, P-130 can lock in areas of spot rust and slow future growth. P-130 also aids in preventing the development of new rust beneath your Silicone Roof Coating.

Available in: Red color and 5 and 55-gallon containers.

Application: Spray-applying is recommended.

Note: P-130 is not intended for use over areas with extreme rust. These areas should be removed and replaced prior to coating the roof.

Details

P-130 Rust Inhibitive Primer is a high quality, water based, low VOC, rust inhibiting primer. P-130 is designed for application over metal roof surfaces to prime the surface and prevent rust growth. Existing rust growth is slowed significantly, nearly to the point of stopping completely. New rust growth is essentially nonexistent. P-130 can be applied with spray, brush, or roller.

Storage and Shelf Life: P-130 has a recommended shelf life of 12 months from the date of manufacture when stored in unopened containers between 40°F and 70°F. Refer to product packaging for date of manufacture.

Application

Prep: Prior to starting your roofing project, prep the roof by power-washing, removing dirt and debris, and making any necessary repairs. Ensure roof is completely dry prior to applying any primer or silicone. For more detailed preparation instructions, view our Technical Resources page.

Mix: Separation may occur prior to product application. This is normal and does not impact performance. Product should be mixed with a drill mixer for ~5 minutes prior to application.

Application: P-130 is intended to be spray-applied. It can also be applied with a brush or roller. P-130 should be applied at a rate of 1 gallon per 200 square feet. Do not leave product exposed to elements for more than 48 hours to prevent weathering and dirt pick up that will compromise adhesive performance properties.

Equipment:
Spray: Contact PM for specific pump, hose, and spray gun requirements.
Roller: 1¼” nap roller.

Limitations & Precautions:

P-130 cures by water evaporation only. Product must not be applied when the ambient temperature is below 50°F or if there is any possibility it could fall below 32°F within 24 hours of application. Application is not recommended if rain or dew is likely to occur before product dries. In high humidity conditions late afternoon applications should be avoided as overnight dew formation on uncured surface can cause coating wash-off. On marginal days, multiple applications of thin coats can ensure proper drying before rain or overnight freezes. Cool temperatures and high humidity will slow cure.
