Details

PS 900 Pro-Shield is a silicone coating designed for a fully reinforced roof coating system. This product was specifically designed to be used as the base and intermediate coat for fabric embedment. The “skin-over” time has been extended to allow more time to work the fabric into the coating.

In addition, this product was formulated for maximum adhesion for most roofing substrates. PS 900 is the perfect solution for any customer who wants a roofing solution that is stronger than a pure coating, while maintaining the cost savings of silicone roof restorations.

PS 900 is a single component, moisture cure product that is ready-to-use for quick application and is UV stable. Suitable roof substrates include TPO, PVC, EPDM, modified bitumen, smooth BUR, concrete, spray polyurethane foam and others. Substrate may require primer, please refer to the PM primer guide for more details. The material is white in color.

Storage and Shelf Life: PS 900 has a recommended shelf life of 12 months from the date of manufacture when stored in unopened containers between 40°F and 80°F. Refer to product packaging for date of manufacture.

Application

Prep: Prior to starting your roofing project, prep the roof by power-washing, removing dirt and debris, and making any necessary repairs. Ensure roof is completely dry prior to applying silicone. For more detailed preparation instructions, view our Technical Resources page.

Mix: It is recommended that any silicone product be mixed with a drill mixer for ~5 minutes prior to application.

Application: Apply the base coat at a rate of 2.0 to 2.25 gallons per square (depending on surface texture). Immediately roll the PF 200 Polyester Fabric into the wet coating followed by another coat of the PS 900 over the fabric. This intermediate coat should be applied at a rate of 1.5 gallons per square. Back roll the intermediate coat to remove all wrinkles, air bubbles and fish mouths in the fabric.

Once the base and intermediate coat of the PS 900 has completely cured, apply the HS 3200 at the rate specified for the appropriate warranty duration. Our Silicone Coverage Guide is a great tool to determine your application rate.

Equipment: PS 900 should be applied via spray equipment (We recommend the Graco 933).

Cure Time: PS 900 cures in 1-4 hours under normal weather conditions and is tack-free in 1-2 hours. Because conditions vary, it is recommended that you exercise caution prior to walking on recently applied coating.

Weather Restrictions: To ensure optimum performance, it is recommended that you do not apply this product when surface temperatures are below 40 degrees. In cold-weather applications, material should be kept indoors until immediately before application. It is also recommended that you do not apply this material while rain is falling. Rain will not cause silicone to wash off, but the substrate will become wet and will negatively impact adhesion.
