Ponding Water Eliminator

SKU: SL-852

Ponding water is the source of many roofing problems. Eliminating ponding water prior to completing a roofing project is extremely important, and can also be difficult and time consuming. SL-851 can help.

SL-851 Roof Ponding Water Eliminator is a roof-leveling compound designed to fill low areas of a roof surface and eliminate ponding water. This product is designed to be used in conjunction with the PM Silicone Roof Restoration system and can be applied over virtually any roof substrate.

Available in: Speckled color and 5-gallon pails.

Application: To begin application, remove all contents from the 5 gallon pail, leaving only the SL-851 granules. Pour the polyurethane binder into the pail and mix thoroughly to achieve a consistent blend. Prime the area being repaired using the enclosed primer. Using a trowel or screed board, evenly spread the material onto the low section of the roof to help bring the roof surface back to its original slope and achieve positive water flow to desired drainage areas. Tamp down with a trowel to close any open pores - especially around the perimeter to prevent water infiltration. If mixing the whole kit at one time, you can use the enclosed mixing bag, pour all granules and urethane into bag, hold open end shut, roll around for 4-5 minutes until granules are all wet, pour into ponding hole and spread. Allow to dry for 24 hours prior to applying a coating over the surface to match the color of the existing roof and fully waterproof the area.

Application

Examination: Prior to installation, the underlying deck should be examined to ensure the roof structure is sound and uncompromised.

Prep: Prior to starting your roofing project, prep the roof by power-washing, removing dirt and debris, and making any necessary repairs. Ensure roof is completely dry prior to applying silicone.

Application: The ponding area should be marked to outline the deficient area. The depth of the ponding water should also be noted prior to application to ensure the proper application thickness of the SL 851. To begin application, remove all contents from the 5 gallon pail, leaving only the SL-851 granules. The typical coverage rate of a 5-gallon pail of SL 851 is 9 square feet at 1” thick.

Equipment: SL 850 should be mixed with gloved hands and poured onto the roof and smoothed with a trowel.

Cure Time: Our High Solids Silicone Roof Coating cures in 8-24 hours depending on application thickness. Because conditions vary, it is recommended that you exercise caution prior to walking on recently applied coating.

Weather Restrictions: To ensure optimum performance, it is recommended that you do not apply this product when surface temperatures are below 40 degrees. In cold-weather applications, material should be kept indoors until immediately before application. It is also recommended that you do not apply this material while rain is falling.
